His voice is so engrained in my mind that when I first saw him in a silent picture (La boheme), it seemed like such a waste. It doesn't get any better than "While dancing cheek to cheek". Rogers and Astaire were good in 'Swing time" too. And Edward Everett Horton has such a great comic voice, its no wonder he was used in Rocky and Bullwinkle. rcoceanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17102201338319611538noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-331373971294623620.post-33154248068534607092015-02-02T15:36:10.193-08:002015-02-02T15:36:10.193-08:00A timeless, glorious classic from the way it looks...A timeless, glorious classic from the way it looks to the way it sounds to the easy genius of Edward Everett Horton. If you snipped out all the musical numbers, you'd still have one of the wittiest and most entertaining romantic comedies ever made. With the music, it's sheer bliss.

The scene between Astaire and Edward Everett Horton on the air plane and Horton is telling Astaire about meeting the girl at the bird house in the zoo cracks me up every single time. Perfect comedy timing.

And if I'm lucky enough to get to Heaven, part of it is going to look like Venice as depicted in TOP HAT. Otherwise, it wouldn't be Heaven.Kevin Deanyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07697597405552599370noreply@blogger.com
