Filmed in NYC, Bacall plays a musical theatre star, some of the rehearsal scenes probably as close as we'll get to seeing her actual Broadway performances. In both of her '70's film roles she plays widows beautifully, I guess to be expected from Bogey's Baby. One of her great quotes when she moved her young children from Hollywood to Manhattan (claiming her only sound financial decision was buying their home in the famous Dakota) was to the effect of, "Widow is not a profession," but she scored a couple of great gigs playing one.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02133735817795366869noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-331373971294623620.post-1359386711008657272015-09-20T05:13:46.340-07:002015-09-20T05:13:46.340-07:00Someday you'll turn into the biggest western c...Someday you'll turn into the biggest western convert ever!

Those Broadway musicals of Bacall's intrigue me. I remember people used to make fun of Wayne's manner of speaking in the 70s but that was because he had 1/2 a lung taken out. He often had oxygen available on the set when a lot of physical activity was required. rcoceanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17102201338319611538noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-331373971294623620.post-38628574300451581562015-09-19T09:08:30.738-07:002015-09-19T09:08:30.738-07:00I know from personal experience that even when you...I know from personal experience that even when you "beat" cancer, there is always the lingering thought that someday you will have to face that battle again. Its a somewhat sad movie since we know Wayne wasn't really 'Acting' about having cancer.
