NEW YEAR'S EVE
ONCE the long month of December was still
and filled with wishes and dreams,
pageants and store Santas, and
hot chocolate and mittens on strings.
NOW it is a battle to grasp the days,
the hours and minutes,
while time laughs and
rushes to turn the calendar page.

Nice.
ReplyDeleteHappy new year. I saw on FB that tomorrow is Gavin's birthday. You didn't have him at midnight on NYE, did you?
Thanks.
DeleteNot at midnight. At the last minute, I decided I didn't want to be in labour so I had some wine hoping the pains would go away (not very bright!). Gavin came along about six in the morning and I thought he was the cutest boy in the world. Still do.
All the best for 2019!
Lovely poem! Happy New Year, and may 2019 bring you health and much happiness. And many opportunities for cake.
ReplyDeleteYes. You know me so well. All the best in the coming year. It will be a time for dreams to come true.
DeleteYes, lovely poem though slightly sad. Hope you'll have a wonderful 2019.
ReplyDeleteThe holidays are a mix. If there's a certain amount of sadness, there is always some hope.
DeleteHappy New Year, Anke!
Happy New Year! And I hope you keep posting on this wonderful blog in 2019!
ReplyDeleteAll the best to you, my friend.
DeleteI live in a circle where the blog sparks my interests outside of movies and around it goes back to the blog. I'll be here.
Paddy, Happy and Healthy New Year to you and your family!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. I hope you know that those wishes are returned.
DeletePaddy Lee, I wish you and your family a wonderful healthy NEW YEAR in 2019.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes, Walter Severs
Thank you, and the same to you and yours.
DeleteI Love this: "while time laughs and/rushes to turn the calendar page". Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteHappy 2019 to you. May this new year bring you love, laughter and dreams come true.
Thank you so much. I wish all of those things for you.
